Virtual ID is generated from Aadhaar number. But Aadhaar number cannot be traced from Virtual ID. Only one VID can be generated from each Aadhaar number. VID is valid for at least one day and can be updated daily.

How to generate virtual Aadhaar number from UIDAI

  • Visit the official website of UIDAI.
  • After this, go to Aadhar Service section and click on Virtual ID Generator.
  • Enter Aadhaar number and security code here.
  • After this, click on the Send OTP option visible here.
  • After entering the OTP go to Generate VID.

You can also create a virtual ID through a message

From the registered mobile number, write GVID followed by the last four digits of Aadhaar and send it to 1947. Example: Send GVID1234 to 1947.

Login to the mAadhaar app. Click on the option of Generate Virtual ID. After entering the Aadhaar number and captcha, click on OTP Request. After entering the OTP number, click on Generate VID. You will get the VID number.
