If you order from Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy or Instamart, understand the bill game

While ordering from e-commerce (Flipkart) and quick commerce portals (Blinkit, Zepto), take a look at the price breakup (Bill Summary). In the hurry of quickly adding items to the cart and quickly making payment through UPI, you are buying very expensive goods. Quite a lot means really a lot.

Bill system in online shopping

You must be using e-commerce portals like Flipkart or Amazon. Nowadays, their delivery network has reached even small villages.

If you live in big cities or metro cities, then quick commerce portals like Zepto, Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart must have become a part of your daily life. Using these apps is fine, but have you ever looked at the final amount (Bill Summary) before ordering?

If you haven't done it, then please tie your seatbelt quickly. In the hurry of adding items to the cart and then making payment through UPI, you are buying very expensive stuff. Quite a lot means really a lot.

Make friends with breakups

Let us explain all the calculations. But let us make one thing clear quickly. We have no problem with any charge of any platform, such as packing or delivery.

It is justified to charge service charge for providing service, as long as you as a customer do not have any problem with it. We are just going to share with you information about one practical use of it.

As we told you, we usually look at the final amount of the product but do not look at its price breakup and all these charges go away just like that.

It is not just about Flipkart. You are paying extra money on Blinkit and Zepto too. For example, you will have to pay Rs 210 for dark chocolate. Whereas its MRP is Rs 200. Meaning you will spend 5 percent more.

Calculation of delivery charges

If this seems less, try ordering a product worth less than Rs 200. A chocolate worth Rs 103 will cost Rs 142. Almost 40 percent extra. Usually only one or two packets of milk are ordered, but in that case it is double. Even if you order three packets instead of one packet, it will still cost more. The same is the case with Zepto and other platforms.

Now it is a case of taking money if you are providing service. Same is the case with food delivery apps. From platform fees to delivery charges, everything is charged. But we probably don't go there every day, so let's talk about quick commerce for now.

Calculation of delivery charges

I have told you the matter, now I will tell you what I want to tell you. Before ordering any product, take a look at the price breakup. If you can walk and get a chocolate for Rs. 103 from the grocery store in the neighborhood, then get it.

You will be able to walk and it is possible that if you pay Rs. 100 instead of Rs. 103, the shopkeeper will not mind. Especially if you have to order only one product, then take a look at the price breakup.

In normal conditions, it will not be difficult to do so. If you need something at midnight or in an emergency, then it is okay. However, there is another aspect to this.

There is usually no delivery fee for ordering large items, but handling charges are applicable. Meaning, if you can walk a few paise, then handle everything yourself. You will also get a small chocolate in lieu of handling charges.

The bottom line is that these are all good services which are useful in times of trouble. But it is not right to pay extra money without any reason. The rest is your money and your discretion.
