Apple is constantly launching new products these days, which has created a lot of stir in the tech world. Recently, after the launch of the iPhone 16e, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a post on X (formerly Twitter), which led people to speculate that the next product would be a MacBook Air with M4 chip. 

Earlier the company launched the new iPad Air M3 and an entry-level iPad, but after this Apple surprised everyone by introducing the new MacBook Air with M4 chip. This new model comes with many major upgrades compared to the M3 MacBook Air. Let's know what is special in it.

M4 chip and better RAM options

The biggest upgrade in the new MacBook Air is its M4 chip. It may not be the M4 Pro or M4 Max, but it is still quite powerful. It has a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, which is capable of processing 38 trillion operations per second. This is a huge upgrade over the M3 and will be able to easily support Apple's AI features for years to come.

Apart from this, Apple has increased the RAM of the base model from 8GB to 16GB, which will make the performance much better than before. 

For those who want an even more powerful laptop, an option of 32GB RAM has also been given, which is more than the previous 24GB limit.

Better Battery Life

Battery life has always been great on Apple devices, and the new M4 MacBook Air continues this tradition. Battery life has improved even more due to the power efficiency of the M4 chip, although there has been no major change in the design. The same upgrade was seen in the M4 MacBook Pro, where battery backup was improved.

Improved external display support

A major drawback of the previous MacBook Air models was that they supported two external displays, but for this the laptop lid had to be closed. 

This meant that you could not use the MacBook Air screen and external display simultaneously. This problem has been solved in the M4 MacBook Air. Now you can use two external displays even by opening the laptop lid, which was previously possible only in the M4 MacBook Pro.

12-megapixel center stage camera

The new MacBook Air now has an upgraded 12MP webcam, which has Apple's Centre Stage feature. This feature adjusts the camera by tracking your movement during a video call, so that you always remain in the frame. 

This feature was also previously provided in the M4 iMac and MacBook Pro. Apart from this, it also has support for Desk View, which allows you to share a top-down view of your workspace. This is very useful for online tutoring or presenting a project.

New Blue Colour Option

The new MacBook Air looks different not only from the inside but also from the outside. This time Apple has launched it in a new blue color, which is replacing the previous Space Black color.
